Practice and Background:

My goal is to help you make informed decisions about your treatment.  I received my Masters in the clinical practice of Art Therapy in 1993 from State University College at Buffalo and I have extensively trained in the treatment of psychological, emotional, behavioral, and interpersonal problems throughout my career.  I worked for over 16 years at a community mental health center providing traditional psychotherapy in a variety of setting to individuals experiencing differing degrees of mental health concerns. During my time there, I provided individual, couple, family and group therapy.  I have worked for a large hospital system providing clinical and administrative services to inpatient and  outpatient mental health services in Rochester NY and the surrounding rural areas. I have specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and helped to establish DBT in the Rochester area in 1998. I am a licensed Creative Arts Therapist in the state of New York and maintain on-going clinical education in the practice of psychotherapy and art therapy to ensure the effectiveness of my skills and knowledge.  My clinical training has focused on DBT, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and psychodynamic models of care. Continuing education is very important to me. In addition to on-going clinical training, in 2012 I completed a Masters in Public Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare. I believe this additional education helps me understand the complex healthcare environment we all interact with to maintain our health and wellness. I am a member of the Rochester Area Group Psychotherapy Association and the American Art Therapy Association.
